SINGAPORE – Blended and slightly hidden in the charming Orchard Roads, the Hilton Singapore is a solid place to stay in Singapore.
Built in 1970 is going to leave the Hilton group soon, joining the IHG groups as voco Orchard Singapore in 2022.
With its 423 rooms, it is a great place to start your Singaporean adventure.
Lobby
The Lobby looks modern and at the same time cozy with the marble finishes and the warm lighting. The receptionist is kind and able to satisfy also very late requests at the arrival.
Rooms
The rooms are good, not too fancy but also not too basic. They have nice lighting, a good mattress and if you are lucky you will be facing the famous Orchard Roads. Bonus point: when we visited the cleaning services was able to come at different times of the day based on customers need. The result of the cleaning was always great.
Breakfast
The breakfast was simply great in the Opus Steakhouse. Free for Gold and Diamond Hilton Honors members, there was a great selection of western and Asian food. The service is overall fast in getting hot drinks and the queue was not excessive. Definitely, a must also because there are not so many places around where you can have this variety.
Executive Lounge
If you are a Diamond Member for Hilton Honors or you have a room on one of the Executive Floors, then you have access to the Executive Lounge. A quiet place where you can relax, eat, drink and work out of the overall crowd of the lobby. Great view of the town as bonus point if you stand next to the windows.
Hotel Restaurants
The same room that hosts the breakfast, after 7 pm became the theatre of a magnificent steak house called “Opus”. With the grills visible from the room, this can be a paradise for meat lovers. Wide selections of steaks and great bread make this place of the most attractive steak houses for price and quality of the food. Average price (55USD).
Bottom line
This hotel is a solid choice in Singapore. Well connected to the main attractions, it can be a good option to have quality and price right in your stay. Unfortunately, the hotel is going to pass under the IHG control early in 2022. So hurry up if you want to still enjoy it under the Hilton brand.
