SINGAPORE – There is no place on earth as Singapore, trust me. The small country on the southern side of the Malesian peninsula, it’s THE city that in the post-pandemic world you want to explore.
Here are my top recommendations to live Singapore at its best.
Airport
The Singapore Changi Airport is so far the best airport I’ve ever seen in my life. On top of a harmonious shape, it offers a level of comforts and food experiences above the usual levels. Luxury shopping, SPAs, indoor gardens, and even a waterfall make Changi a place to visit and spend a few hours.
Where to stay
With a large wallet, there is no place as the Marina Bay Sands. The futuristic hotel hosts up to 2561 rooms and a beautiful infinity pool at the top of the boat-shaped building.
When I’ve visited Singapore, the Sands was way out of my budget (+700$ per night), and for that reason, I’ve been staying at the Hilton Singapore on Orchard Roads. The Hilton Hotels offers good rooms with a nice shower, a rooftop swimming pool, Executive Lounge, a good breakfast, and a great steakhouse in the evening. For slightly less than 150$ per night, this can be a good place to start your Singaporean adventure. Bonus point the hotel is on Orchard Road, the shopping street of the town.

What to do
Gardens by the bay
Get ready to be transported into an Avatar movie experience at the Gardens by the Bay. The Complex counts three distinctive waterfront gardens — Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central. Most of the activities are in the South Bay with two Domes able to cool down the hot tropical temperature of the town. Tip of advice: bring a sweater since the temperature can go down up to 17 degrees Celsius.
Try to visit them close by the sunset to then admire the spectacular show of the Super Tree show daily at 7.45 pm and 8.45 pm!

Orchard Roads
If you are looking for some good shopping, then you can’t miss the popular Orchard Roads. Luxury boutiques alternate to great places where you can taste local food and buy local products. Orchard Roads can be very hot during the summer, but no worries. The smart Singaporean government has built a way to move almost all buildings underground.
Universal Studios and Sentosa Island
Looking for some fun? Then head to Sentosa Island. This luxury place will amaze you with luxury villas and also a more mild version of Universal Studios. Make sure to book your ticket in advance.
Where to eat
I’ve experienced multiple places in Singapore, but here are my favorite three.
Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsey ($$$)
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, 01-81, 2 Bayfront Avenue
The name is already a guarantee of great food. In a lovely atmosphere, you can enjoy an authentic touch of western food with the Beef Wellington as the signature dish of the menu.
The prices are a bit high compared to the average of Singapore, but it’s Gordon Ramsey.
Lavo at Marina Sand Bay ($$)

Aren’t you sleeping at the Marina Sand Bay but you still want to go up to enjoy the view? That’s your occasion! Lavo Restaurant offers a great example of Italian cuisine mixed with a great view and sensational cocktails. Their pizzas and curated cheese and ham selection is great specifically if the surrounding is the astonishing view of Singapore.
Tonkatsu by Ma Maison ($)

If you are in love with the famous Japanese Tonkatsu, that’s the right place for you. You can find multiple varieties of the Tonkatsu in a charming atmosphere. Better go for lunch, since early dinner can be a difficult moment to find a spot.
Yan Kun Kaya ($)
Multiple locations
This is an institution in Singapore for its famous Kaya toast. If you are not familiar with it the name “Kaya”, well no worries. We are sure that you will love its taste. In fact, this coconut jam is a great way to have a snack and the Yan Kun Kaya Cafes are the perfect place to taste it. Find the closest to you and buy even a jar for your friends or yourself.
Bottom line
There is no doubt that Singapore is a city to visit in South East Asia. Its vibrant and multinational atmosphere will not disappoint even the pickiest tastes. Be lost in the best city in the world for quality of life and enjoy a variety of food and experiences as none else in the world.
