LXR Al Habtoor Palace Dubai: where classic mixes with luxury

DUBAI –  Gorgeous, classic but with a personal spirit. The LXR Habtoor Palace Dubai is the place you want to consider for your next stay.

Perfectly located next to  Sheikh Zayed Rd, the former St. Regis hotel is part of a bigger complex that hosts other two Hilton hotels: the V Hotel a Curio Collection by Hilton and the Hilton Al Habtoor City. Despite the proximity, the Palace keeps its identity as a high-end hotel in the Hilton portfolio.

General

The trip from Dubai International Airport to the hotel takes only 15 minutes and it is a smooth ride between the skyscraper of downtown. The hotel features different suites, private butler service, a pool, and many other luxury experiences like SPA and a Champagne Bar. At the arrival, you are greeted by the valet at the entrance and immediately redirected to the reception where you finish the final bureaucracy before getting your key-card.

Room

The hotel offers different kinds of rooms, ranging from double rooms to suites with different levels of luxury inside. Thanks to the Hilton Honors Diamond status, I managed to get a free upgrade to a Diplomatic Suite. The room is roughly 90 square meters with a large bathroom and a lovely living room area. Water is always provided as perks for each guest but do not be surprised if you find some nice gifts (e.g. chocolate or fresh fruit) from the butler service. Amenities in the bathroom area from the Italian premium brand Acqua di Parma and the typical “Acqua di Colonia” smell really helps to make sensorial memories of your stay.

Breakfast

Breakfast is for free for Diamond Members but I would always advise that also for those who have to pay. The breakfast ranges from cold to warm salty and sweet dishes. I really liked the pancakes and the French toast. Despite the beverage service being a bit slow, the bakery made it up for the one offering a super-wide selection of croissants, muffins, and Danish pastries.

Facilities

Despite the hotel is not in Downtown area or on the Palm Jumeriah, you will always have something to do. In fact, the hotel offers free transfer and access to the Waldorf Astoria at Palm Jumeriah’s beach and a free shuttle to different parts of the city, including DownTown.

In addition to these perks, you can also enjoy the pool and its delicious food service. However, if you are a Hilton Honors Diamond Members, the hotel offers an extra perk in the Champagne bar. In fact, you can enjoy free drinks and canapés from 5 to 7 pm. Champagne, Wine, or Beer are available on the menu, as well as salmon, sandwiches, and other sweets that the Chef proposes.

Bottom line

Overall the hotel is a great choice for those who want to visit Dubai and indulge in luxury. Its location makes it a quiet place out of the crowd of the Downtown and perfectly positioned to explore what the town can offer. The price of the rooms is adequate for what the hotel can offer. The Concierge (Chat) is also a solid point when it comes to booking excursions and/or restaurants. The access to the Waldorf Astoria beach is then the bonus point that will make me come back to LXR in the future.
