KLM and Thalys make train travel more appealing to intercontinental and European transfer passengers

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Thalys have closed an agreement to continue developing their joint AirRail product with a view to making it more appealing to customers. The aim is to increase the number of passengers with connecting KLM flights at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol who travel from Brussels – and back – by train. For some time now, KLM has offered transfer passengers the option of boarding a Thalys high-speed train instead of a flight on the Brussels-Schiphol leg of their journey (or vice versa). Before the Covid-19 pandemic, 20 to 25% of these passengers (some 36,000 customers) chose this option. KLM nominates Marjan Rintel as new CEO

The Supervisory Board of KLM intends to nominate Marjan Rintel as the new President and CEO of KLM. Rintel is currently President and CEO of Dutch Railways (NS), where she has worked since November 2014. Rintel is no stranger to KLM and - before joining NS - worked for the airline for 15 years in various positions, including operations, sales and marketing at KLM and Air France-KLM. In accordance with the intended nomination, Marjan Rintel will succeed Pieter Elbers who will step down as President and CEO by the 1st of July. Elbers will ensure a handover to his successor. Delta’s new A321neo narrowbody debuts on Boston routes beginning in May 2022

Delta customers will soon begin seeing the first routes to feature the airline’s new A321neo aircraft. The experience-rich, fuel-efficient narrowbody jet arrived in Atlanta last week, and beginning tomorrow, customers may purchase tickets on the first flights the aircraft is designated to operate. A321neo-operated flights are set to depart from Delta's hub at Boston Logan International, bound for San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), San Diego (SAN) and Denver (DEN). The new aircraft will first depart for San Francisco on May 20 and then debut on existing flights to Seattle beginning August 11.
