Statement KLM on Dutch entry ban for travelers coming from certain southern African countries

This morning the Dutch government announced that South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe have been flagged as a very-high-risk area where there is a COVID-variant of concern. This means passengers flying KLM from South Africa to the Netherlands will only be permitted to board if they comply with the entry restrictions imposed by the Dutch government. The entry ban does not apply for the repatriation of people carrying Dutch passports, EU citizens, Schengen residents, medical emergency staff, ships’ crew, airline staff and people travelling under exceptional circumstances, such as family emergencies. KLM reopens US network to European travellers

As of today, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will reopen its United States network to European travellers, on condition that they are vaccinated and hold a negative PCR test. As of today, passengers have access to 64 weekly KLM flights to 11 destinations. This means KLM has resumed service to all destinations it was serving directly in the winter before the coronavirus pandemic broke out. This includes Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, Las Vegas, New York, Washington, Minneapolis and Houston. Additionally, KLM offers passengers a broader network of US destinations through its partner Delta Air Lines.
